The 2026 PetroPhase Conference will be held on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. Technical sessions are scheduled to take place in the Joseph E. Usibelli Engineering Building at 1764 Tanana Loop, Fairbanks, AK 99709.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks offers affordable and convenient guest housing on campus, located in walking distance to the conference venue. All options are simple dorm rooms with twin beds. Linens are included (sheets, blanket, pillow, towel and washcloth).

Shared room for up to 2 people with community bathroom shared with the floor.

Private room for 1 person with community bathroom shared with the floor.

Two shared rooms for up to up to 4 people adjoined with a small sitting room with a 1/2 bathroom (sink and toilet). Community showers shared with the floor.

AIR
Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is the main airport serving Fairbanks and the Interior of Alaska. Non-stop flights connect Fairbanks to major hubs like Anchorage (ANC) and Seattle (SEA) year-round. During the summer season, additional direct flights from Chicago, Portland, Salt Lake, and Denver are available. Seasonal non-stop flights also connect Frankfurt with Anchorage.
GROUND
Taxis can be found just outside the airport terminal doors with multiple local companies serving the airport.
Rideshare: Both Uber and Lyft operate in Fairbanks and can pick you up and drop you off at designated areas outside the terminal.
Rides to/from the airport are also offered through various private shuttle companies and hotels. Check with your hotel to see if complimentary airport shuttles are provided.
Public transportation in Fairbanks is limited but offers an economical way to get around. MACS Transit operates multiple bus routes throughout town and also serves the airport. Schedules are limited, however.
Renting a car is the best option if you prefer an independent mode of transportation and/or want to explore areas outside of Fairbanks. Several companies have counters at or near the airport. Please note that rental counters may not be open 24/7. If you have a late-night arrival, check the company’s after-hours pickup policy. Summer is a busy time in Alaska so be sure to make your reservations early.
